First Social of 2010 was a HOT POT SUPPER & CEILIDH - 7.00pm Sunday 18 April.
This was held in The Den Scout Hut, Park Road, Timperley WA15 6UA with The Nelson Peach Ceilidh Band. The Caller was Jill who led the dancing very skilfully while gently coercing everyone into joining in and having a great time. Numbers were limited to 50 so we were not to crowded and people provided their own drinks and the Hot Pot, which was prepared by Ed, Sue and our old friend Terry who is now running the Conwy Folk Club, was absolutely delicious with many returning for seconds and the occasional third. More old friends, Lesley, Rick Richard and JJ, aka Nelson Peach, were in good form which further ensured the evening's high quality. Strip the Willow and The Circassian Circle were just two of the tradiional dances all well performed by the enthusiastic crowd. The first Social was a resounding success and we can now all look forward to our next walk out and singaround.
